The Mindful Relationship

The Mindful Relationship

Savasana Station is excited to host for the first time speakers Adreanna Limbach and Lodro Rinzler!

The Mindful Relationship

Falling in love is an interesting term. We could say "strolling into love" or "mentally preparing for love" but we use the term "falling." It’s almost like we’re throwing ourselves off a cliff and falling without any hope of a parachute or sense that we may get wounded along the way. It’s simply opening ourselves up to the experience and hoping the other person is also falling beside us, which is often uncomfortable.

Join MNDFL teachers Adreanna Limbach and Lodro Rinzler (who also happen to be engaged to one another) for a guided meditation and discussion on how we can approach our romantic life with more mindfulness, compassion, and understanding.

We are donating proceeds to Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Don't miss this engaging and engaged couple's talk about The Mindful Relationship.

Seats are limited to 30! Seating is a combo of meditation cushions, meditation benches, benches and good old fashion chairs. Sorry, no teeter-totters.

LODRO BIO ::

Lodro Rinzler has taught meditation for fifteen years in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage and is the award-winning author of six books including the best-selling The Buddha Walks into a Bar… and the latest, Love HurtsHe travels frequently for his books, and has spoken across the world at conferences, universities and businesses as diverse as Google, Harvard University and the White House. He serves as co-founder and Chief Spiritual Officer of MNDFL, NYC's premier drop-in meditation studio. lodrorinzler.com

ADREANNA BIO::

Adreanna is a personal development coach + meditation instructor that helps women access their inherent clarity and confidence so that they can expand their freedom in business and life. Her work has been featured by The New York Times, Refinery29, Women's Health, and xoJane. As a coach, she’s mentored hundreds of do-gooders at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, as well as cohorts of tomorrow’s leaders in social change as an Executive Coach and faculty at the Institute for Compassionate Leadership. As a meditation instructor, she has taught secular Buddhist studies and meditation at The Interdependence Project in the heart and hustle of NYC, and served as a lead coordinator of the Meditation Working Group at Occupy Wall Street, bringing daily practice to the volunteers at Zuccotti Park in 2011. Most recently, you can find her on the cushion teaching at MNDFL, NYC's premier drop-in meditation studio, as well as online at Daily Dharma Gathering.  www.AdreannaLimbach.com

Saturdays: Oct. 22, 29 Nov. 5, 12Time: 1:00 - 2:30 pm

This four-week course, taught by IDP’s Executive Director, Kimberly Brown, will help you begin to develop your capacity for forgiveness and compassion for yourself and others.

We understandably feel negative feelings and aversion towards those who have harmed us. But holding on to these feelings can cause us hurt and shame, and keep us bound to painful people and situations. We can free ourselves from this suffering by learning to develop balance and compassion for our own experience, and to recognize that each person we encounter is also struggling and searching for happiness.

With this unique offering, we’ll practice lovingkindness/metta meditation to challenge our preconceptions about what it means to forgive, understand true bravery and strength, and learn to use gentleness and kindness to uncover our true nature of lovingness and receptivity.  Each class will include guided meditation instruction, mindful exercises, discussion, and Q&A.

No prior meditation experience is required. Chairs will be provided.

Work study opportunity: position filled

Your financial investment: $100 // $80 members, seniors, students

Bio:  Kimberly Brown is a meditation teacher and the executive director of The Interdependence Project.  She leads mindfulness and compassion classes, workshops, and retreats for groups and individuals in NYC.

Secrets to a life + body you love:

For over 5 years, I’ve been teaching and training people in Holistic Health. What I’ve noticed is that while some people become wildly in love with their life, others are still struggling in a lot of negative habits, despite knowing what they need to do for themselves.

I truly believe that every human deserves to have a body and life they really love.

As your facilitator for this cleanse, I’ve seen many people transform their life-through support, accountability, and a whole lotta love. Kim Stetz (founder of Savasana Station) and I have developed an awesome cleanse (that takes into account your busy life!) for you to learn the practical steps to achieving a body and life you adore, and also the mindset for lasting change beyond the cleanse! Change the way you eat, and your life will change.

With gratitude, Ellie Aaron
