Sofia dove deep into an ashtanga practice that wore her sacroiliac (SI) joints to the point of yoga semi-retirement. While recovering, Sofia became attracted to sitting meditation and psychology as therapeutic healing modalities. She continues to evolve in pursuing and sharing a yoga practice that's geared toward healing and less toward competition and perfecting.
She loves dancing, root vegetables, the color purple, mulberries and the entire state of California - mainly the beaches and forested parts.
"I've taken a few classes with Sofia. The instructor was constantly checking on the students. The routines are different enough each time as well, which is a nice touch."
Sophia is earning her PHD on the West Coast. We were more than blessed to have her as a foundational teacher at Savasana Station in its infancy stage. Sophia is invited to sub classes whenever she's in NYC. You will know!
