Location: Savasana Station 212 AVE B NYC 10009 - ground floor entrance on 13th Street.
This MBSR course offers students an opportunity to learn several different forms of mindfulness practices (mindful breathing, walking meditation, mindful movement, and more) and practice bringing mindfulness into our daily activities, self-care, work, relationships, and communication. Using mindfulness, we will explore stress reactivity and habits, and find more skillful ways of responding to stress. The course teaches practical ways to integrate mindfulness into daily life and to build and sustain a personal mindfulness practice.
No prior experience with mindfulness or meditation necessary.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

This winter join Emily Herzlin at Savasana Station for Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), the eight-week course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, without judgment. MBSR uses mindful movement, meditation, group discussion, and inquiry to teach students how to use mindfulness to relate differently to stress. The course teaches practical ways to integrate mindfulness into daily life and build and sustain a personal mindfulness practice.
Studies indicate that mindfulness-based stress reduction programs can reduce anxiety and increase general well-being and overall happiness.
Mindfulness can be successfully learned and practiced by people of all backgrounds. No prior experience is necessary.

Each class session is 2.5 hours long, and the course includes an orientation session and an all-day class. Home practice support materials are included. Important dates below.

All day retreat - Sunday 3/26 (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM) 1 hour break for lunch

*If you are unable to make the orientation, or missed the orientation and still wish to enroll, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. All students must receive orientation information and participate in an individual interview prior to attending Class 1. Orientation may be done by phone if you can't make the scheduled date.
Course fee includes all materials and the full day retreat.
Cancelation Policy: To qualify for a full or partial refund, you must email your intention to withdraw from this course to email@example.com by the dates below:
- Notification of cancelation sent by Jan 22 - Full Refund
- Notification of cancelation sent by Feb 2 - You will be charged a service fee of $50, and the balance of your tuition will be refunded to you via your USPS mail carrier. Please provide an address to receive your refund.
- Notification of cancelation sent no later than two days after the orientation meeting on Feb 7 - You will be charged a service fee of $75, and the balance of your tuition will be refunded to you via your USPS mail carrier.
- No refunds will be given three days following orientation Feb 8.
- If you were wait listed and able to get a spot post orientation there will be no refund once payment is accepted.

About your teacher Emily Herzlin:
Emily is a certified MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) trained at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness. She attended the MBSR Teacher Development Intensive in November 2013, the Nine-Day Practicum in MBSR in July 2013, and the MBSR in Mind-Body Medicine professional training in 2015. She has been teaching mindfulness meditation since 2011 (Columbia University, The Interdependence Project, Exubrancy, Adelphi University, Astoria First Presbyterian Church, Mission to (dit)Mars, GreenspaceNYC, the Astoria Bookshop and Savasana Station.) A resident of Astoria, Queens, Emily leads regular mindfulness meditation classes in her neighborhood. She founded the weekly meditation group Mindful Astoria.
